my guess is that the switch senses an increase in electical resistance once water drains .. simple but works ...any other thoughts , agreed heat would be usless

Land Rover changed the bleed screw design on the later design top radiator hose. My original top hose would have been fine with this device, but my new top hose has the bleed screw moved to the plastic T piece, and it is different in size. :mad:

Andrew - I don't suppose this can be combined with the previous in hose kit? I haven't fitted the one I ordered as I don't have 8 cm of straight hose to fit the insert. I didn't want to add a potential failure point to the cooling system.

Graz, i also have one of the previous ones (that needs a hose cut), but asked my LR service guy to install as i couldn't find long enough piece of hose to cut. He installs them all in the coolant reservoir, and they work! Wish i knew then about this new "screw replacement" one, seems much easier

yeh, is it retrofittable to the old joiner system, buy a new hose and just purchase the new bleed screw??

Even more good news. I just got an email from David (The Owner) and they will supply the upgrade sensor unit alone for $30 incl Express Post.

It will definately upgrade.
My kit I had was the inline.
The inline section isnt required,you only need the 1 wire that connects the unit to the sensor,the earth wire on the ealier units like mine is not needed.
Sounds like somebody has alreasy contacted David for a sensor only upgrade $30 delivered.

On advice from David Jones ... to get the $30 upgrade deal you need to mention your association with AULRO

I'm assuming the in-line sensor for a TD5 is installed on Top hose part of the Cooling system ?

if so the In-line sensors are ok , no issues with mine, if installed correctly there should be no weak points;)
