Smile Guess what I've been up to...

    ...Installing goodies in the County.

    It now has:
    • Two N70 style batteries under the passanger seat!
    • Dual battery controller, with bridge switch for starting & winching capability where required.
    • A trailer break control unit.
    • Rearward facing spotties, wired for reverse lights and auxillary switched.
    • Two sexy new accessory sockets in the rear for engel and whatever else I desire.
    • An LED tiltable bar interior light in the back above the door.
    • New discs, pads, shoes and rear slave cylinders.
    • New rear wheel bearings.

I found out....that my chassis has no holes in it. Not even for wiring. No rust ones either! What a royal pain in da-bum. I also broke the spacer washer between bearing and the big nut (excuse my lack of mechanical terminology) while seating the bearing. How spastic is that? I was like...yeah, could only happen to me.

Rangies, have a few drain and other holes in the chassis, but you couldn't run wiring inside the chassis rails. Where bits and pieces bolt to the chassis rails there are internal stiffeners that would prevent running cables inside the rails.

    Heaps...

I have to do some steering bushes and the ball on the steering box. Really I need to pull that out and overhaul because the play in it is totally apalling! Pull the winch apart and clean & re-brush, bearing etc. *chuckles* overhaul the holley (which'll happen in a month or so); install bearing shelving in the rear. Make engel mounting somehow/where...build intermittent wiper relay and install. *grins*

    Heaps of stuff to do.

Do we know anyone who has built a wiper relay for these buckets before? Or am I first to brave this bridge?

The dashboard looks like something out of a Thunderbird. It has lights, switches and meters and LCD's of all shapes and sizes. Looks pretty cool at night.

IMHO, one thing you should do is get rid of the holley - angles and holleys don't go well together unless you do drastic mods. Far better to get a quadrajet from a holden v8.

I actually think she meant an electronic brake controller.

Just because I'm good at 4x king things doesn't mean they all get broken. Just the cars.

It's on gas...the angles dont matter! But the sucking of air through it's numberous leaks and high idle is really starting to annoy me. Actually it drives me bonkers, but anyways.

Thanks for pointing out my engrish capabilites...both of you. Very charming. I'll go all technical on ya both and call it an electric brake control unit. Pics will be arriving...tomorrow.

My dash, for the record, is not like a Thunderbird. It has a tacho...and a tomtom from time to time...an aftermarket single socket cd player! And the gas petrol switch/gauge. All my switches are in an additional box mounted on the center console; and okay, there is...5 there.
