In Portuguese, 'ar' translated into English, is 'air'....
'Service' translated from English, into Portuguese, comes out as 'serviço'.
But, when you try to to make a business name, for a company that provides services to airlines, and you try and combine Portuguese and English.....it just doesn't read very well.....

This is in Pemba. I've just come back from an interesting and busy few weeks down in Maputo, preparing and submitting tender documentation.

Have had a very enjoyable trip from Pemba, Cabo Delgado Province, down to Nacala, in Nampula Province. While there I took some time to go visit Ilha de Moçambique, which has been one of my lifetime aims, since I first read about the place.
Ilha de Moçambique is UNESCO World Heritage site, and is the oldest European settlement in the southern hemisphere. A very significant place to visit and, it won't be my last time. I intend to bring my wife here and stay on the island and just absorb the place.
Then, coming over the bridge and back onto the mainland, I noted there was a Commonwealth War Grave; something I had to view.

Arrived back in Pemba late yesterday afternoon after a long drive. Palma is up in the very north of Mozambique and is to become the LNG production centre for the gas to be extracted by the US company ANadarko, out of their concessions in the offshore geographical feature called, the Rovuma Basin.
Huge money is being, and more is yet to come. Nearly 400km of road is currently being renovated/built, along with bridges. The LNG plant to be built is estimated to require 1000 staff, the majority of who, will initially be foreigners.

This is the dirt strip currently here. They are to build a new hard strip as part of the LNG plant.

The estimate of the workforce required to import and construct the LNG plant is 5000, even more foreigners.

Massive change coming to a place whose history had been mainly to do with slave trading.
This is typical of the road construction underway, one Brazilian company and a Portuguese company. One section is more than 100km in length and the side roads you have to drive on are as corrugated as you can imagine..a very shu-u-u-u-u-u-ddering ride...of about 2hrs...e pa!

I visited a historical place on the way home; Mueda. It was the location where on the 16th June 1960, the Portuguese colonialists massacred 600 locals, which pretty much initiated the revolution.
