    That is right.I am amazed that ford did not make the territory with the Tdv6 when they owned LR.90% of 4wd's are bought by people for towing not for four wheel driving.A solid built constant 4wd vehicle with a strong diesel engine for 45k would sell like hot cakes here. Pat

    Happy hunting!
    What's wrong with duck egg blue Disco interiors !!!! :-) My 93 Disco on diesel gas does 8.5 litres per 100k on mixed driving, I'll put up with the colour scheme for the fuel saving. Go the Disco son !

    Up here in the NW of Victoria where everything is as flat as a night-carters cap, I have managed 7.6L/100k in my 98 300TDi. I admit there was a slight tail wind, but was chuffed when I refilled and did the math...

    [QUOTE=Adon;773362]G'day.

    Also i've been told Discovereys aren't as reliable as defenders, range rovers and the other landys. Is this right?

    QUOTE]

    Regardless of model they are all extremely reliable; ie you can rely on them having some obscure problem, that why we love em

    I do not know why I am doing this but just to set the record straight the TDV6 is a Ford/PSA developed engine also used in Jaguars Peugeots, and Citroens.
    Land Rover had no input except to "off roadize" it. Land Rover buys them from Ford, just like the Transit engine in the Defender, and the Jaguar engine in the petrol V8 D3 and the Explorer engine in the D3, and the Volvo engine in the Freelander.

    I would imagine the business case for a Territory costing $11,000 or so more was not there, but that has probably now changed.
