    ECU upgrade

Silly question maybe but here goes. I understand that with an upgrade you gain power but can they not program an ECU for a gain in fuel economy? Sure I (like most) would love a power increase but with diesel priced the way it is I would really like to get my economy down. Any thoughts appreciated.

I have a Tunit piggy back hip on my Td5. It made no difference to the consumpton at all...if anything it might have improved it. You will find however that it depends on how you drive it...consumption might go up initially, but this is probably due to you using the loud pedal a bit more. This side affect (and the silly grin) will subside after a while.

Most of the ECU upgrades can save you fuel. It's just when you tromp it the fuel consumption gues up. The upgrade allows you to cruise with ease saving you fuel.

Its a turbo diesel so it'll use enough fuel to make the power you ask it to make an not more.

Dont ask it to make so much power and it wont use so much fuel.

Now, the real question is how do you reduce your power requirements....
