    Baby car seat in D2??

I know disco's are not the most spacious vehicles especially for the taller gents, but now I have a real problem.

A baby car seat won't fit in the new born position (tilted back) behind either the drivers or passenger seat. Its just to long.

It will fit in the centre no problem but then where do I anchor it as the two factory positions are on the outside seat backs.

I have it fastened it to the cargo barrier at the moment but not using it until its checked out.

Am I stuck for options or is there a solution. Both my wife and I need the front seats as far back as they will go.

For cause of problem see picture attached.

Mine has an anchor point above and central of the boot door, you may need an anchor extension to use this though??

I'd be very surprised if there was not a central mount such as above the door as WildOne said (also as per Disco1).
The centre rear would be the safest place for a baby seat.

there is as stated above a central point resesed into the roof trim on all d2's, but you will need an extension strap

I know what you mean! My D2 has one in the center just inside the rear door. Maybe if yours is a 5 seater its different?

I had to use a extension strap to reach though.

Just to say what everyone else has already said.

All passenger vehicles manufactured for sale in Australia after 19xx something like 1980, have to have three child restraint anchor points.

Sometimes, as said above, they are mounted on the roof right at the back. Often they are covered by a plastic button. If they headliner has been replaced it is common for them to forget to poke the hole back through the fabric.

You'll probably need an extension strap for the seat, as said above, costs around $20 from Kmart.

The centre rear seat is the safest.

    Cheers
    Simon
