They were quite surprised when I pulled up next to them at the lights and chucked it back at them, together with a banana skin and an empty coke can I had.
Love it! When someone throws a ciggarette butt out, it's great fun to throw it back in and watch them freak out trying to find it! I used to do this for a while but figured it would eventually land me a broken nose. Now any time i see someone doing this i just yell at them like the town idiot "hey mister - you dropped your cigarette/coke can/wrapper! Everyone turns and stares at them and they walk away ashamed.

This is the best way to stop the moron's - shame them into reality!

    Rubbish.

We were in Millstream NP recently talking to a German couple who were themselves involved in the tourism business overseas.
They were astonished at the rubbish left beside roads and in camping spots (not Millstream, the volunteer Rangers clear up after the scum!) everywhere.

They weren't impressed by Karynjini either, too many so called "eco huts" crammed together completely spoiling what them and probably most people, had gone there for anyway.
It was an expensive place to stop as well apparently.

Yonks ago a mate and I had hired a car in Carnarvon to visit the local salt mine further North and when we returned it, Avis complained of all the "refreshment" stubbies and cans in the back footwell.
They said that "Everyone else throws them out the window so why didn't you!!
The local prisoners were used to clear up the road every few months as "work experience".
Times have changed a bit since then, but not by much.
    Alan.

Flicking cigarette butts out the window can come back and bite you too if you have the rear windows down....... Have heard of cars catching fire this way.

And in the bush things thrown out can hit a tree and come straight back in. Try that with an open can of beetroot.
Best not to throw stuff out.

As a teenager I spent one summer cleaning up Brighton beach (VIC.). Never dropped litter again. Absolutely disgusting what people will throw under the tea-trees.Maybe we should all do a couple of months cleaning up after other people.

A very well known Merrijig pub resident Stick Beamish once went to dump his pipe out the window of his cruiser ute and the still burning ash came back and lit a heap of news paper up behind the seat.

By the time he realised it was alite and pulled over the entire cab was filled with flames as well as he was on fire.

He nearly died and after that, he never ever tossed anything out the window.
