    axle upgrades

    Im looking to do some axle upgrades iv been looking at the maxi axle front and rear for my defender 130.Are there any others that offer a large spline or is 24 all i can go and is this strong enough for hard core wheeling? Also is the rear salsbery as strong as the dana 60 or is it the same thing? Im new to Land rover and would thank you for any help

    There are differences between internals in Salisbury and dana 60. E.g. pinion splines (and possibly bearings), bolt sizes in crown wheels. Dana 60 has stronger pinion.

    AFAIK, McNamara make 35 spline axles (1.5" dia) for the Salisbury, but you also need his custom spindles with larger bore (to suit the larger axles), and 35 spline side gears for the diff centre.
