    Split rims

    Not a strange question.
Does anyone know if there is model 16x7 split rim available that will
    fit my Disco D1 ?
For desert bush bashing, split rims and all steel radials are the only way to
    go.
Been there done that but not in me Disco, and, damn I want to, eh !

Why not get some old toyo split rims , cut the centre out and get either landrover centre,s and weld them in place or have new centre,s made up at a wheel works

why not just get some of the normal landy ones and when you do let me know where so I can get some, Im still chasing 4 more....

Keep your eyes out for some ex mil stock that might be coming through theres been a consolodation of RPS stocks due to a potential safety risk should the rims and the splits ever get mis paired. I know we sent back 4 rims but as they were part of a mission kit they were accountable.

I had some centres fitted to 5.5" x 16" split rims (toyota I think).

All steel radial, 14 ply rating, Bridgestone 7.5R16 tyres.

Not as good handling on gravel roads, or as good on soft sand as the 265/75R16 MTZ tyres I had before. But ok on tar and tough.

    Thanks for the replies fella's.
I might just get a set of off something and have a wheel man make up
the wheels to fit, with a slight offset. I will try a wrecker to obtain
    some rims.

The all steel radials handle the tracks pretty well in the dry but come into their own when you are bush bashing in the central and western deserts.
Less prone to side wall damage, out in the mulga and can often be repaired.
The steel belted radials like we usually have on, are useless in these conditions.
In the pic, steel belted radials, would quickly be destroyed in these conditions, especially where there is more ground cover.
    Thanks.
