    Alfa Romeo 2L GTV 1974 - timing

    Hi all,

Tony has asked me to post this. We've just blue slipped my brother's Alfa, & he's replaced the carburettor seats. (Or some such!). Anyway ... the timings all to pot & we can't for the life of us find the damn manual! My brother's keen to pick it up on Sunday, as he's been without it for about 6 months now, but Tony's keen to get it running properly before he does.

I suggested just taking it to the local mechanic & letting him sort it ... didn't go down too well

Any help will be very gratefully received & perused with diligence!

    Thanks

Alrighty, I've got the following Haynes manual for 1973 - 87, all models inc gtv, 1600, 1750, 2000cc which covers all alfa romeo alfetta saloon and coupe models - what do you need? Or is it a 105?

Firing order: 1-3-4-2 (No 1 at timing chain end)
    Idle Speed (all model carbs) - 850 - 1000rpm

Which type of carb is fitted? - Weber/Solex/Dellorto

Distributor - direction of rotation Clockwise - viewed from above
points gap (all except californian models) 0.43 to 0.48mm
dwell angle (as above) 57' to 63'
ignition timing (eurpean models) 6' to 8' BTDC at 900 to 1000rpm

Let me know what you need and I'll attempt to find it or could possibly fax some pages to you

Others probably have a better understanding
