I keep hearing about Cheap Tuesday for fuel and it just doesn't work for me.
How is it that fuel prices are dictated by the crude price in Singapore, except for Tuesdays?
It's a conspiracy!

Seriously who cares...
Difference... $3-$6 per tank... And you line up at the pump burning more fuel than you save...
My time at work is worth up to $90.00 per hour in my pocket... Why would I waste my time sitting waiting to save $6.00
Even with the exorbitant increase in prices over the last 18 months my fuel bill per tank is only $35.00 more than it used to be.
I get 1300km for that money, so I dont mind... We're still pretty darm lucky in that regard...
And I blow more cash on Bulldust than the fuel saving...
Look at our lives...
iPhones/Blackberry/NextG, Austar/Foxtel/Optusvision, Broadband, Wireless Broadband, Mobile Broadband, Plasma, Home theatre, Huge electricity bills.
Fancy Clothes, Fancy Mods....
Lets face it...
Drop some / all of the above and return to a simpler life like the 70-80's (watch what you receive on TV, hire a DVD), support a local club, watch a normal Television that doesnt chew 1000w to run....
We'd all be around $400 a month better off![]()
It used to be the case that mon-wed prices were cheaper than thurs-sun. Fuel companies do what they call "discounting" early in the week to level out supply.
i.e - the refineries run 24/7, so life is easier when demand is equal, rather than low mon-wed, then higher thurs-sun (as people have been paid, etc.).
However - consumption patterns might have changed if it isn't happening any more?
Never happened here anyway.

I bought, by accident not design, fuel last Tuesday and all I can say is thank God I did 'cos I would have hated to see what the price was on Monday or Wednesday, cos I had to sell one of me daughters to a Oil rich Sheik to pay for it![]()
in adelaide we still have the fuel cycle for petrol, not diesel(and best i can tell not gas) fuel has been going to around 1.67-1.69 late wednesday and slowly drops back to around 1.55 by tuesday.
diesel, strangely has dropped a couple of cents this week, compared to the last 3, where is been around 1.86 at most places. i saw 2 at 1.79 last night.
tombie2, yeah it is only a matter of several dollars per tank, and while its a great achievement by yourself to be earning what you do, to many of us- indeed all of us who the fuel prices do affect, every $5 more on fuel, $10 on the weekly shopping, increasing rego costs, increase in labour at garages, etc, have a very big impact on our already stretched budgets.
if i hadnt left my previous job ate last year, i would still be earning the EXACT same income as i was in early 2005. they didnt follow CPI in their pay updates(we never had an update except for one of 44c/hr in early 2005).
that made things very hard. living on a wage that was only acceptable in 2005, would be impossible for may in mid 2008.
