calm a savage beast, my secret weapon

I found a way to shut up a nagging dragon

    I state a fact

"you know that Charger I sold ten years ago for $2500 because you insisted it cost too much money to run/keep, they are now anywhere from $20000 - $165000"

    Silence is golden

    Ebay here we come.

i know a guy who bought an old falcon 3 yrs ago for 12k.he got offered 34k for it & sold it .saw it not long ago,had another owner who had bought it for 74k,so dont feel too bad.

i keep thinking about how i should have bought an a9x or slr5000.......years ago no one wanted them

hindsight is a wonderful thing..................as are crystal balls......

Could have bought a XB Falcon GS Coupe a couple of years back. It was rusty, but it was driveable and registerable and only $1000.

Everyone talked me out of it, and now a hulk of a shell with now running gear, doors, glass dash etc goes for a fortune.

Been kicking myself ever since, but picked up the ex-army 2a this week as some form of consolation.

I learned the hard way. When you see a great deal...... Take it.

When I bought my new Hillman Hunter Royal 660 (a rebadged Hunter GT) in 1971, I could have bought a GTR Torana for about $100 more and the XU1 for about $500 more.

I didn't get the GTR 'cos it had only two doors and we were getting rid of a two-door car - they were/are a pain in the proverbial.

We couldn't afford the extra $500 for the XU1 - that was a lot of money.

I know which would be worth more today. I know, you say "Who keeps a car for that long?" We did. We gave the Hunter away this year - my son got it off me a few years back.

I always love showing mine the CB1100R's in Just Bikes etc, "Hmmm, $20000 with 50000kms,mine had 12000 on the clock and we bought a lounge suite with the money I got for it".
