    Lightweights had fuel fillers under both seats from 1968 till they went out of production in the eighties. I think a couple of other 'developmental' MOD landrovers had the same. ie the 'big' lightweights (gun tractors), 100 inch trial vehicles and amphibious rovers. Not the sort of thing you come across often though !!!

    My first ever LR,a 2A had two tanks with the fillers under the seat with the amount on a dipstick in it.It also had two fillers,one either side with a brass tap next to the handbrake lever for switching between the two. Pat
