My quote was actually of Salamanquesa and not in response to your post.

If you have a signature without subscribing then fair enough - obviously as per the FAQ's when you joined

"...(If) the administrator has enabled signatures, then you will have the option to include your signature on any posts you make."

I manually add mine, exhausting, but up to the capabilities of my Mac. It is not really a signature but italic test pasted at the end .....Legal I think.
