Normally when I have recovered someone or I have been recovered there has been an agreement on how the recovery was going to happen.
This is the reason that he needs a 6l v8 under the bonnet, so he can dig trenches in tracks with his 4 excavators bolted to his axels.
I'd send him a repair bill with a nice letter saying that you appreciated him recovering you but because he is an irresponsible git he has caused this damage so it is up to him to cover it.
If that doesnt work just claim through your insurance and give a description of the car and a rego number if you can remember it.
But then again, I wouldnt have hooked up the second time unless there was absolutely no other ways e.g. winching or turning back and if I did have no other choice then I would have asked for him to do it the way I wanted him to and if he didnt do it that way when I disconnected after all that I would have snotted him, thanked him and then still put a claim in.
There's no excuse for that, it was just showing off.
I'd report him to DSE as well as the police for hooning and damaging tracks.
Give him something to think about.
