The Jeep should be just as good as a Landy off road or even better.
It has plently of go too.
Rust in the body and front guards is a big problem with the early CJs.
I have had much experience with driving a earlier CJ3B and CJ6 with the 4 cyl motor against 2a Landies.
The Jeeps tend to flex a bit more off road and be nimble.

oddly I think they are the same having owned SWB And LWB SIII's and a 58,64 CJ5.

Im assuming that the CJ is on its normal narrow rubber and thats the difference, you get uit up on some 16r7.50s and it'll happily go where the rover will go...

the 2.2l Fhead that was in the 58 was nearly an exact copy of the 2.25 petrol in so far as the torque and power curves go.

The f head was slightly ahead in power but the 2.25 had a better torque curve and a bit more of it.

IF they want to sell it........

Unless its got the V8 in that case its a case of way too much right boot way too easily...

it has fats all around in line 6 will look 2mrow at what type of moter with a 3 speed box only surface rust so far havent seen the rego papers yet . but seams to be geard to high no go in high in low range you could get out and walk faster (1st low range 4x4 12-1400 RPM) just thinking if the timing could be out a bit or sucking air some where it shouldent (please bear with my speeling i have only learnt to read & right in the last 3 years )

How old is he... IF hes much younger than me I Think I know what the problem is.........

OH+S getting in the way of being able to actually go out and learn what needs to be learnt to drive properly..... The skiils pool is depleteing for some of the simple things, those that are in and know dont want to have a thing to do with instructing on courses becuase you always get pulled up for being "risky" or they dont play politics so dont get swan trips.....

That and most drivers out there treat em like company cars and just do the redneck thing to get through because its not theirs and when its their own vehicle that they have to pay to get fixed while they get along without it, you know where Im going with that...
