    Previewing slow?

I was just about to post the following:

AULRO normally runs at an acceptable speed on my antiquated clockwork driven computer.

However the time take to view a preview of a post seems to have suddenly increased dramatically. Something like 10 secs instead of 1 or 2.

    Anyone else notice this?

No prizes for guessing what happened when I previewed it. Yes, of course it came up in an instant.

OK, so I'll rephrase the question.

Has anyone had an intermittent problem with the speed of previews?

the system is overloaded to the crap house, i am surprised it still runs...

just waiting on a cheque coming in and i will be arranging some finance so i can buy a new server..

nothing more i can do that will make any real difference till i have that in place ...

the system served 105.5 gig of data last month

    i am ordering a Sun SPARC Enterprise T1000 Server, 8 Core, 1.0 GHz UltraSPARC T1 processor, 16 GB DDR2 memory (8 x 2 GB DIMMs), 2 x 73 GB 10000 rpm SAS disk drives

a cool way to blow $8k+ and a week or 2 of sleepless nights...

Best (or worst) thing is that it is dedicated to AULRO only (same as the last server bought).... man it takes some dollars to keep this place pumping along Inc. Don't envy you but definitely appreciate everything you do for us

I'm not sure whether I should be embarrassed about complaining or pleased that things have improved, but since I complained about the speed of previewing, half of them have been back to normal speed.

However regardless of whether I am pleased or embarrassed, I am grateful that the site exists and for the efforts of those who make it possible.
