    Unichip fuel usage D1 V8

    Hi all,

Currently in Biloela for Daughters Birthday.
Decided to take the disco for the 530km trip and see how well it runs with the new Unichip.

Averaged 14.5 litres per 100k, sitting mostly on 107kph and through two steep ranges. Car drives really well and has no trouble with the hills

I'm quite happy with that, considering the car was fully loaded.

Next test is Sep, towing the caravan for 2,000km.

    Cheers,
    One happy Ron

Vehicle has to go back on Monday.

It misses between 3,500 and 4,000rpm.
Unichip have given the supplier a "Filter" to fit on the car.
Something to do with crossed wires and electrical interference??

Fuel consumption averaged 15l per 100km, for the whole 1,100km. That involved site seeing, around town, 4WD tracks and coming home at 108 to 118kph (Running late).

Overall I'm very happy with the new "Gutsy" D1.
Will be happier when it stops missing.
I fitted Iridium plugs and a better coil, improved but not a lot. I'm also fitting Magnacore leads on Monday.

I'll let you know how it goes, Monday night, or Tuesday.
90Kw at the wheels can really be felt

Hi Ron they are excellent figures for the V8.Just a few questions for you Is your motor still the standard 3.9? Had you done any other mods? And do you have anymore info on the unichip? I have the 3.5 V8 and thinking of doing something similar like this.

    Standard 3.9 V8, now 115,000km on it.
Extra's are 2 1/2" exhaust with larger pipes from the twins on each manifold, to the "ONE" connection.

It gets rid of exhaust gas very well.

I fitted a snorkel and did away with any sharp bends in it.

    Hi Peter,

$1,650. That included the $200 extra for the extra dizzy electrics. Some are compatible and others not.

    Cheers

I cannot get off the bloo*y FORUM
If any one knows how to unsubscribe, please pm me!!

Rovecare, I deleted the Ignore list long ago, Ijust didn't tell anyone.

    My very last message!

To the guys interested in "Unichip."

Disco went back this morning to have a electric filter fitted.
They also up dated the software and now it is fine, no missing.

Same guy did a RR 4.6 HSE a while back. 40% improvement in fuel consumption. He did not believe him, so the gut showed him his vehicle log (Uses the RR for work). Yes petrol bills were down 40%!
Power was up by at least 10%, as well.

    Farewell.
