Yes you can. My only experience with towing trailers on sand is on Bribie a few times. Not interested in making it a regular occurrence, as I reckon it is too much for the vehicle. At least, on soft sand it is. Fraser's beach is a lot harder packed.
Does anyone know whether or not you can take campertrailers onto Fraser Island? And if so how difficult it will be. I am a relatively new 4WDer and have only just purchased the Campertrailer (Kimberly Kamper) and so am looking for some advice please

I don't know about you, but even with my fully galv Cape York trailer, I'd think twice taking it into that environment.
Vehicles, Sand and salt is my worst nightmare.

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
You can take them to Fraser. I've had mine on Teewah Beach and even in the soft stuff my V8 manual Disco1 had no problems. Well one problem getting out the first cutting but I just turned it around and took the second cutting.
Not sure how you would go getting them up the soft tracks that go around the headlands though.

You absolutely can,
It's a little old now.. but you might find this an interesting read:

As Justin said, you do have to think about salt and sand... but I gave mine a good preparation beforehand, and several really thorough cleans after and I have no sign of drama 2 years on.
It's not camper trailer related, but Vladtapes also wrote a couple of fraser trip reports that I found really helpful before our trip.
You'll find them in the Queensland trip report section.

!!! We noticed heaps of vehicles 'returning to their natural state' in FNQ this year, one Magna had lost so many electrons that it was nearly half a Magna
I really dislike corrosion, but it is a fact of life in the tropics. No need to make it worse by driving on salty, sandy beaches though is there
I cringe everytime I see Maggot4X4's avatar, taken ON fraser I believe

Make sure you "air down" on the trailer too. Also helps if the trailer has an identical track. If it hasnt 1 wheel follows the tow vehicle the other will plow its own track making it much harder to pull.

It probably depends a little on where you want to camp. The eastern beach is fairly easy to tow on at the right tides. I have taken a camper trailer up to Cathedral Beach without any problems at all and I have seen larger caravans camped on the beach and some pretty big boats get towed up to Waddy Point during the fishing comps. Sometimes they use two or three vehicles linked together to pull them through Indian Head though.
I probably would not want to take a trailer on the inland tracks simply because it would be difficult to find room and places to get off the track when vehicles (especially tour buses) come the other way. If you have not been to Fraser you will find a lot of the inland tracks are two way but only one lane so someone has to get off. If you came across on a barge from Hervey Bay or River Heads you could probably easily get to some of the camping on the western side but again I would not like to travel too far. Some of the inland tracks do get pretty soft and rough at times as well.
