Geez, I was cringing at the thought of doing that! I suppose you are much wiser now huh?
Do you have that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you complete something that was an absolute pain in the a$$?
My most stupidest thing was to volunteer to remove the starter motor from my mates Jag.
HANDBOOK:
1. Remove both front bucket seats.
2. Remove centre consul
3. Remove stereo system.
Why you ask!!
So as you can fit under the dash to remove a small cover which allows access to one mounting bolt on starter motor.
The rest of the time was shoehorned underneath trying to extract the unit.
Imagine the auto electrician's face when my mate walked in with starter under his arm. I think the autoelec guy suddenly realised it was not him that had to remove it.
BUT
I had then to replace it. Would it go in the way it came out? NO!!!
After much levering and losing skin off knuckles I finally resorted to removing the offending engine mount and levering and jacking motor around to allow me to refit the starter motor.
OH WELL! What are friends for???![]()
