    Back To Work

I have just returned from a visit to the surgeon and the good news is I am now considered fit to return to work on a full time basis.

All good things come to and end it seems and after nearly 8 months off it is probably about time I became a member of the workforce again.

All that remains now is a day in Brisbane on Monday running about and jumping through hoops to convince the powers that be that I can still competently perform my duties as an Aviation Firefighter.

Come Wednesday, I should be winging my way northwards to take up a meaningful position at Hamilton Island once again.

What's jumping through hoops got to do with fighting fires on aerodromes

Good to hear your able to get back into it anyway.

Point taken, but cold is relative. I would much rather a cool to mild climate than the mild to hot and humid which exists in most of coastal Qld.

Unfortunately, there is no area in Australia that is not subject to extremes in one way or another. Tasmania would have the ideal climate most of the time to my way of thinking.

Incidentally, our time in the desert produced nothing colder than minus 2. When you consider some trips we did years ago with temps down to minus 7, this is not cold. After all, in 5 1/2 weeks I only wore long pants on 2 evenings.

    I know, I know......no sense/no feeling.

Tasmania...sorry all you AULROmanians...we were there in Dec/Jan 06 and on boxing day I was so cold........it was bleeding freezing with thermals, jumpers & Drizabone, beanis, gloves I have never been so cold ....except when I was in the snow in N.Z. maybe...so ALL of this great country called OZ there are extrems of temp............but......maybe that is why we like it so much

That's not what she said to me. After all, she lays in bed thinking of me!
