Grew up just out of Balaklava.

2 weeks is after the August rainfest started. Have the farmers out near Monarto etc had any rat problems? Thought maybe the rats had headed for the hills () due to the rain.

Holes seem too small for rabbits and they tend to be out in the open more when they burrow. Also around during the daytime too.

Maybe ask at the local produce store if anyone's got similar problems.
    Cheers, Dale

My best mates old man used to be the minister of the big church in the main street in Hahndorf...

Used to love dropping in to the German Arms for a pint or 2...

Balhannah is a nice spot too.

It must just be me... But switching to immature mode... That is a funny thing to say!

Anyway, back on a serious note. Maybe some photos of the burrows and tracks could help determining the critter?

    Be .... vewy....vewy.....qwiet !!

    Wabbits....

Actually, funny what you say about the Cocker Spaniel. Ours is a real hunter and once she had a whiff of it, she would not rest until she had caught that thing.

So far we've seen her catch rats, mice, a small snake, a chicken (oops)

There's your problem. If you owned labradors there would be no food remaining.
