As he tried to escape, his jeep was sucked deeper into the bog.

Let's sail: The driver decides to leave his jeep behind

Sinking feeling: The jeep emerges as the tide lowers

Expensive mishap: This is the moment the jeep started to sink into the mire

Write off: The jeep suffered extensive water damage
I know it's a generic term but gawd.

    No, actually, that's quite clever.
There are plenty of people who now won't associate the incident with Land Rovers but Jeeps!!

How good are those freebie door seals... its a veritable spa bath inside and low tide dry outside...

Certainly an expensive way to test door seals!

Have a look at the readers' comments below the article.

The first one's a pearler. Real well educated whinger that one.

But if that's a "BRAND NEW" Freelander as stated in the headline - they're a bit behind the times over there. The brand new ones I've been seeing for quite a while now are a different shape than that one.
    Cheers .........

Yikes - that's exactly the same as our Freelander.

At least now we know it doesn't float. Won't have to test it for ourselves.

It wouldn't have held water like that if it was a Defender

No, a Defender would have driven out.
