Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had experienced the following problems on their Disco, I recently bought a 1998 SE7 TDI, everthing is fine with the car except when I have full lock on the front wheels seem to bounce and and the tyres screech, is this a common thing on these cars?? if not does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this (it happens more when turning right than left).
Oh I almost forgot, there is also a small intermittent issue with the rear electric windows sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, could it be the control unit causing this??

I had the same problem with the back windows and it turned out to be a cracked soldiring joint on the ECU. If you remove the glove box and pull out the ECU you should be able to spot the cracked joint. I was able to fix it by just touching up the joint. It is a common problem and seems to be one joint in particular, there is another website that has a fix on it (I can't remember where at the moment but I'll have a look for you and repost).Originally Posted by peter lowery
