    TM2 watchdog system

Just spent an hour fitting a tm2 watchdog system to my disco1, order from qld on monday, delivered to tassie tuesday, fitted today. This unit monitors temp at the place you place the thermocoupler (think thats what its called), I have placed it on the thermostat bolt. Still have to play around to see what temp I will set it at but it appears to read 76/77 degrees, so for a start I have set it at 79 degrees. Mounted the display unit in the centre of the overhead console as I wanted the siren to be in the most audiable place (certaily makes a racket when testing). It has the option to also hook up the oil pressure light but I havnt hooked that up as I dont want the sqarking every time I turn on the key
    cheers

I bought 2 about 2 years ago. One for the County & one for the Disco. The one in the disco still works fine the temp will vary with wherever you put the sensor, its a case of experimenting. You've reminded me to advertise the 2nd one as I've dismantled the County.

I also have mine connected at the thermostat bolt - still not sure if it's the best place. But it's a great product that provides excellent peace of mind. I connected up the oil pressure wire as well and I don't mind the squawking at startup at all because it tells me that it's working. I also have a second one that I'm still not sure what to do with. I think I need another Land Rover to go with it.

I did notice a clamp bolt just behind the fuel pump slightly higher than the head surface, maybe a better place. I have since set my temp warning at 87 degrees. You dont see much, if any change on the gauge for 10 degrees though. Still Playing

I have mine attached to the back of the block at the engine lifting bracket.

Normally reads high 70s but has got up to the 90s when towing in summer.
