Binns Track in 3 weeks from Melb?

    Hi guys.
Trying to plan a trip....not quite the trip of a lifetime because like most of you we're 'time poor' but the Binns track looks interesting. Could we cover this track pretty much along the lines of the 4x4 mag article in 3 weeks without busting our boilers?
We're used to travelling long distances in a day, have no kids to worry about and will have our off road camper with us. We have a fully equipped D2.
We're looking to travel in late march/early april 09
I look forward to the replies.

Well everyone I have to say that I AM impressed! Obviously 4x4 were telling the truth when they said that Binns Track is new as I can't believe that no one here has been on it.

Well I used the 'Contact Us' bit on the 4x4australia web site and wow..... I got a reply the following day.
Apparently they did the trip from Mt Dare to Timber Creek in 9 days and in their opinion, a 21 dayer will see us do it pretty well.

    Sooooooo

    Any takers?

I'm getting all the info over the next week or 2. Just let me know if you have any interest in doing something last week of April 09 to mid May and we'll see what transpires.

    Good work 4x4 and thanks.

I've done it, I've just finished a report which includes some of Binns. Part of Binns includes the Old Andado track to Alice, on this stretch is some fairly heavy duty bulldust areas. If your D2 is an auto your tranny will be working hard. Make sure you fit an oil cooler especially if you've got a camper, mine overheated without towing. Have fun, it is a very, very, very nice drive!
