Well, that's your spare time (and money) spoken for for the next few years![]()
Woke up this morning to the kids jumping on the bed ready to give me my fathers day presents. No. 1 son was whinging about how early it was though, as we were to head up to my folks place at Yarraman for lunch. Got some great stuff from the kids and Wifey, made coffee in the new cup, put on the new socks, jeans and the careflight Polo I bought to support the Helicopters after my mum needed a ride in one late last year. Jumped in the 130 and off we go to Yarraman. Passed a brown county on the Bruce H'way travelling north, didn't catch who you were, and a Blue Deefer 110 towing a trailer down the Dag.
Pulled into mum's after a good run, said hello's and made another cuppa. Pretty good day so far. Then mum says she saw a sign on the side of the road on the way to Nanango. This one in fact...
Holy crap. The brother in law and I race to the 130 and we're off. On pulling up, what we discover is awesome. The guy had bought an unfinished project from a mate, and done nothing with it. He had also bought another one for the motor and parts. So that's 2 series 1's. Both utes, both long wheel base.
The project is all redone and just basically needs paint and assembling. I cannot believe how straight the body work is. The old ute is also full of spare guards and panels.
We also discovered a late series 2a for sale.
So I made a deal for the 2 series ones, paid the man, went and got a trailer and towed them to mums.
ALL OF THIS FOR $750. WOO HOO
And here is the icing on the cake

I thought I had a good day as I negotiated for a series 1 today.

Happy Father Day mate.![]()
Nice
Congratulations - you had a really good father's day.
Much better than mine (see other thread) - I spent most of the day re-engineering the 2a's alternator installation, interupted periodically by phone calls from the kids, usually when I was underneath just getting a nut started or something like that.

Well I'm sure that with a little instruction from some learned members the one in bits is just a bolt-up and drive. I will also have surplus parts by the look of it as well.
That would be 5 just between us NM.

Well Done Colonel

The scary part is that it doesn't iclude the 3 boats or the 11 mountain bikes.
I have been joking with my daughter for ages about selling her for a pink landrover. She loved the ex bush fire one as the red has faded to pink, but then thought, Oh my God has dad sold me?
Ever had thoughts about finding mint projects in farmers sheds? Had been crossing my mind once or twice lately, and viola.
This has been happening WAY too often lately and it is starting to scare me.
