Thats been around for ages now. I'm not sure why they think that they have invented it. Even the Shell Truckstop at Yetholme (and probably others) has an LPG bowser between the Fast fill diesel bowsers in the truck shutes.

I think it's in the way the LPG is delivered and controlled.

Repco were playing with it in the early '70's. I had a trial installation on a Bedford KMR-XT5. Hardest part was finding space for a 600lb. gas bottle on a fairly short prime mover. System worked well and fuel cost was way less per mile than straight distillate. Performance was down and trip times up. Driveability was good but had to keep revs up as I recall. XT5's had a Detroit 6V53 and Road ranger RT610.

Some don't use injectors (the early systems). The ones that Sequent install on 4WDs use a single injector. Trucks use 6-8 injectors.

Note that these are ECU-controlled LPG injectors, not just a vapour draw system where the lock-off solenoid valve is turned on and off some distance from the inlet ducts.
