Gday, if i remember the last time we did the trip it took about 50mins via fresh water track, i never go around the rocks at rainbow
We're planning a trip up to Fraser in November. We'd like to have a run along the beach from Noosa to Rainbow. I have done the drive, but it has been a while.
My question is, Low tide is at 10 am and it's .66m. Obviously we'd like to get around the point at Fraser rather than the inland road (YUK). We would want to be getting the barge by 11 I reckon at Hook Point.
Allowing for 20 minutes for a fuel stop in Rainbow, and a leisurely gawking drive what time do we need to be on the beach at Noosa to do all this?

Unless it's changed dramatically in the past couple of months, you may not be able to get around to Rainbow even on a low tide. There was a lot of erosion and not much beach on my last trip. A couple of lesser vehicles drove through about 3 feet of seawater to get around, but I decided to turn back at that point.

Nasty. I don't do salt water... ever.
I see on the conditions report that it may be impassable. Luckily we've got a couple of months yet (Nov22) so we'll monitor it.

So, if the going is good (Leisha to Rainbow Open) we could make Noosa to Rainbow in an hour?
How long does the Freshwater track take?

From memory and please somebody correct me if iam out but 20 to 25mins for fresh water, oh and watchout on corners for idiots rocketing along and comming towards you.
Hi,
Have driven along beach from Double Island to Rainbow beach a few times in the last month. Plenty of sand there at present at low tide, or even an hour or so either side of low tide. Many trees on beach near Double Island Point end of beach, rocks at Rainbow Beach no problems. Check at National Park Office just before you cross the Noosa River for latest conditions or even give them a call before you go.
From the Ferry over the Noosa river to Rainbow along the beach is about an hour without any stops, bit more if you take it leisurely.
