G'day All, It looks good parked up there, and yes you do get some looks when driving them about, I was out n about in my current jobbie this arvo, nice arvo for a drive, well we might see you Sunday arvo for a photo shoot LOL cheers Dennis:angel:
PS Stay in the left lane as well when in dual lanes as it's nigh on impossible to see down the lhs side with the small mirrors LOL
hang on, it wasn't that colour before? did the olive drab pressure wash off?
G'day Shonky :)
Deep Bronze Green, Ooh goodie :D they look so good polished up (even with tired paint), and with a little patience you should be able to uncover the Geneva Cross's :) it looks very straight and tidy, you will find that it will want to change lanes in/with a crosswind :( and a headwind seriously slow you down ;) but, they do it with the style that only a Series Ambo can do :) Enjoy her, and take your time learning, you might find that they have a lot of body roll, check if it has 9 or 11 leaves in the front springs, as I am aware that some Ambos that were in service in Victoria had 2 leaves removed for a smoother ride, but they had very increased body roll, if so, replace with standard spec 11 leaf springs, same as GS/FFR/W/shop vehicles, check with Dinty about sourcing them ;)
cheers
Hardly recognisable so clean! Enjoy the Singleton trip. I'm sure it'll be memorable. Drive safely.
G'day All, I, hopefully will get a bo peep at 'Ambrose' tomorrow arvo, as 'Shonky' is calling around to have his pic taken in amongst my motley crew, and if he hasn't scored any headlight bulbs he will leave with some;) anyway we await his arrival cheers Dennis:angel:
:D
More different colour than clean! The whole top layer of paint just washed away! :o
Turns out it was originally the darker Bronze Green and it seems the Army just gave it a coat of Olive Drab before auction. :)
It does look good though doesn't it!
Singleton went well - Ran like a dream at 50mph all the way, except on the way back where a little bit of crud got sucked off the bottom of the tank and decided to lodge itself in the fuel line... It sorted itself out though eventually after much spluttering. :)
