does any body know if they make a 34 inch tyre and what size is it in the metric scope of things unfortunitly coopers or Mickey Thompson dont![]()
255/85-16 is about 33.3" and typically the next size up is 315/75-16 which is about 34.7"
There is the Simex that Moorey talks about and also the 34" Simex which measures at 35". Interco also do a 34x9-16" in the Narrow SuperSwamper range if you're after that type of thing, but its a skinny tyre.
I tend to think that 34" is a bit of a black hole in terms of tyre sizing as there are not many tyres available and it is right at that point where you now get some value out of regearing and strengthening driveline, bodywork etc, but if you're doing that then you'd just go to 35" instead.

34x11.5x16 Jungle Trekker $445 plus GSTdahm why cant coopers make a 34 inch tyre
33's seem to be ok if you're not silly with it. 34s, 35's are a lot more tyre because they are wide and the tread is a looooooot thicker. Over a 255/85-16 you will need to cut, 285/75-16 you will need more than 2"... actually, how is the suspension all going!
I really wouldn't pay that much for a 34x11.5-16 JT2, I'd be getting something else - they're generally good, especially in mud but there are better tyres out there for smooth rock etc that do well in the other same conditions. In that size I'd be looking elsewhere especially in 315/75-16. For around Sydney it may be worth pricing the Radial Claw - apparently there are still a couple around, the new BFG MT KM2 which has just been released in Aus, MTZ, if you want to pay then I'd also sus the Maxxis Trepadore.

Suspension is OK still need a tweak here in there shocks are still to soft haven’t done much about it, I’m waiting till it gets a little fatter prior readjusting
But typical of me I went to BBM and visited Rick and bought a set JT 34x11.5x16 and a set of procomp rims if I knew I could get 315 under the Disco I would of bought coopers again I love them but JT are 292 in width
On the other token I still have the 32 coopers hence why I fell in the line of JT But I would have prefered coopers by far and if your telling a 315x75x16 fits in that guard I may go that way again
Silvarstone extreme 35" measure up at 34"![]()
Oh have you already bought?
I'm not sure what is what with Procomp rims as I've always run factory offset. I understand the Procomps are a broader offset in comparison. The 34x11.5-16 JT2 measures in reality 300mm exactly through the bag on an 8" wide rim and 35.2" at the crown. You most definately will need to cut for them. I've not ever run 315/75-16 though they will fit with a cut on factory rims. The white D2 ute that the farmer made runs 35x12.5-18's which are basically the same mould and size, though they wont have a great turning circle. My MTRs are getting old and I'll replace them with 315/75-16 size when the time comes. The JT2 will blow the doors off the Coopers when offroad though.

You know me spontaneous, I didn’t think 315 would fit other wise claws would have been good option to only prob with these is not being able to run them full time changing rubber all the time I could by something else there on order any way with a weeks wait
