IT PAYS TO HAVE SOME RESTRAINT

PATS ON THE BACK FOR TELSTRA
I have been with Telstra for as long as I can remember, house, mobile, wife’s mobile etc and about 3months ago I received a courtesy call to see if they could do any thing to help and lower my costs etc They put me on a better plan and rolled all my accounts over into one billing, When I told them I had a big pond account I was asked if I was happy with the service and tongue in cheek I replied no, and informed them that they use bate / rewards etc to get new customers and that exciting long term customers get no rewards or recognition for loyalty what so ever with this I was put on hold for a few minutes and when he came back I was advised that my big pond account was reduced to half price for the next 6 months a saving $35 or $210 over the period.
This week my down load speed was reduced to less than half of my normal speed, until 10th of next month, it’s along story but it involves 4x teenage grand kids and down loading music. This morning I called Big Pond ready for a big argument and offered to pay a bridging fee to get me over this period, and after a few minutes of chatting was placed on hold again, when the bloke came back he informed me that due to my past history with the Telstra he had changed the down load setting back to normal. and was given an extra gig a bite for the next month.
This morning I received a phone call from Telstra / Big Pond in the form of an apology .

It's a ploy to get people locked in and happy. Bigpond make their money back on excess data charges at 12c/MB

your fine if your on a liberty account as they slow you down instead of charging extra, sounds like the original poster is.

I'd only look at iiNet and Internode for broadband in Aus at the moment

At the price that Telsta charge for Bigpond they can afford to be generous.
