Hi folks, I’ve got a trip to Frankston coming up around Christmas and was wondering if there are and easy off road tracks on the Mornington Peninsular in the Frankston area.
Not too worried about where or how long the tracks might be just want to take some relos off road.
Cheers.

You can head into sth Gippsland in and around Yarram there are a few tracks through the bush out there, there is a couple of back roads around Franger which get used as 4wd tracks but are normally trenched to the crapper as well as a couple of not so legal sites that 4wders use around the sand hills which I believe are a bit of fun.
There isnt a lot within the suburbs though.
In a nut shell, NO. Head out gippsland or gembrook way, 1-1.5hrs either way. So glad i won't be living there this summer![]()
Crannie might blow up.....![]()

Why do you say that, Tim doesnt talk that much Crap lol
Yeah, do what Damien said and take the P38a and your relo's to Gembrook, there are some good easyish tracks (read boring) up there as well as a few more challenging ones.
I stay away from the place due to the excessive of Nisotas that dont carry recovery gear and flag you down and get you to recover them.
Ive never been there without one of the group having to recover someone that wasnt part of the group to start with.
I ment the site of the yet to be formed Crannie Crater up near the old tip... Get to creat your own tracks once the dust and bricks have settled.
(BTW, I come from Cranbourne, although the end that isn't in danger of exploding.)
I'd have to agree with the others. Take a day trip up the mountains someplace.

There used to be plenty of good tracks down behind Brooklyn greens but it's all fenced off now (doesnt stop some people) due to the owner (Casey council) not wanting to be sued if someone hurt them selves I believe so now were not allowed to use that or behind the race course in the sand hills as thats been fenced off as well.
There are still ways in but if you get caught in there these days you get charged rather than just told to go away.
That was the first place I ever went camping. I think I was about 3 and can still remember it. Last time I was there was about 13 years ago and did the Long Tunnel gold mine tour. The guide turned up in a Series Landie and we had a good chat. That was when I still had the S3 SWB.
Should be heaps to see up there.
