I use a 'supercheap' battery box - holds a 'normal' fully size battery, although I have run the wiring via a controller from the engine bay, it is terminated/connected using an anderson plug, which allows me to move it from one vehicle to the other.

I secure the battery box in the back with ratchet straps, using the luggage tie downs in the back.

That would be great. Thanks mate. How long will that run your fridge for before you need to charge it?

I use a pack called THUMPER.
It can run my fridge (Engel) for 4-5 days nonstop set on med.

Keeps all drinks cold. In the heat of summer, it will run for 2-3 days.

The battery is a fully sealed unit and did cost a bit but does everything, can charge by car or mains.

Its 4 years old now and never missed a beat.

The 'Thumper' units are great, pricey, but the initial outlay will see many years service if treated nicely. You can get a good 3 stage charger off 'that' auction site, so when you are in town, eg- powered site, you can charge it up with 240v. Solder all connections, and the use of Anderson style plugs will ease relocation etc, too. Good luck.

Im "collecting bits" at the moment to build a rear storage/fridge area for my D2,it will include a gell cell 2nd battery plus power from to big lead acid batteries in the trailer when needed.

With just the one battery extra my very small fridge runs for 3 days without being charged. 1 hours run with it connected in the car normally charges it back up.

Once I have figured out what wrong with IE I will post some pictures for you.
