He has a point - 2 engines makes it a hybrid

Only problem I see, is that in Oz, you would leave the bush alight everywhere you went - in a big hurry....

But for climbing some of those sand dunes.....

It would fail on the protrusion from the rear of the vehicle.

I thionk the key point that makes it legal in US/CA is that it isn't connected to the wheels in any way, and does nopt provide drive. So it is essentially just ballast. However if you switch the jet on while on the road I am sure it would become illegal!!!

Along the same lines, I am sure that in Australia you could fit one to a trayback ute, and be perfectly legal as long as it doesn't protrude past the end of the tray.

LOL. I also liked the hybrid comment. And the "We get cops picking their nose all the time trying to decide what to charge is with".

Hope they get that scoooter going.

Great concept, but out of all the vehicles he could have chosen, he used a VW Beetle. He should have used a pink one just to top off the lack of taste!

Ahh, but Paul, you should rephrase that to "out of all the vehicles he could have chosen which are available new in CA" Which limits the scope a bit.

Plus, he probably wanted the best power to weight ratio, while still being able to handle the weight of the engine.

However I agree - the beetle is fugly - jet engine or no.

isuzurover, yep true he is probably limited to a handfull of cars.
He could have done a bit better with the design of the rear end, like having some cowling around the engine, blend it in a bit, looks like he has been rear ended by an alison at full noise.

well the yank has done that nicely, 'cept for the choice of vehicle.
i guess you lot havn't seen the donut king van here on the gold coast with a viper jet engine in it, with afterburner.
i think it may be a bit better than the vw.
same deal, normal vehicle, carrying a jet engine.
i have some vid of it, but don't know how to load it.
    Safe Travels
