    hi \
what do ppl think of these tyres
HANKOOK RT O1 MUD TYRES, SIZE : 215/85R16

would these be ok for disoc 1? would these be 31,32,33 inch tyres and would they fit on standard 7inch wide LR rims or are they 2 small (215)

also would they fit inside gaurd or would i have to modify.
    kind regards

Without the pic I think they are the same tyre type I have. the 215/85 is marginally taller than the stock tyre (205/85). I have 235/85s (32s) fitted for play on stock rims. They are fine but you will need to do a 'camel cut' to the rear arch.

They are quite cheap and perform pretty well but you do need to drop the pressures a bit if it gets too boggy.

OK SO IF THEY ARE MARGINLY LARGER THAN STOCK,WHY DO I NEED TO ALTER WHEELS ARCHES? DO U HAVE A PIC OF YOURS SO I KNOW WHAT U MEAN . HOW DO U TIDY UP (THE CUT)AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN CUT? WOULD LIFTING SUSPENSION A FEW INCHES ELIMINATE THE CAMEL CUT?

I HAVE ES RIMS WITH (235/70) TYRES.

ARE THEY ANY GOOD FOR BEACH WORK, DID U MEAN I DO/DONOT HAVE TO LET TYRE PRESSURE DOWN?.

If you go 32" tyres you need to do the camel cut. the 215/85 will go straight on without mods. Lifting suspension won't change the requirement for the cut with 32" + tyres, the axle still has to travel upwards.

As a general rule, mud tyres are not the best option for sand as they dig in. On sand you want to float over and spread the weight out (lowering pressures). Std road tyres or A/T tyres are a better option for sand.

Glenn, I have fitted flares but if you do a search on 'camel cut' you'll see what others have done. Any mud tyre will drone one the road but they doesn't seem especially bad.

Lifting more than 3" involves significant outlay as you arethen talking about castor correction and start to run into problems with driveshaft angles. Fitting anything bigger than 33" tyres will also have you looking at body lifts, re-gearing and offset wheels.

Decide what size tyres you want to run and work backwards from there to see what you can afford and what is involved.
