Ron I'm amazed 2200 to remove pistons an crank an push in 8 liners

theres no more than a days work in that, that works out about 275 an

There is just that "little bit" extra machine work to be done to fit Stepped liners

And machine a rebate in the block for the top hat liners, then deck the block, etc.

Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide wanted the same amount to do the job. In fact, I had planned to send the block to them then I found I could get it done locally.

Hi yer I realize the bore has to be machined, stepped and decked but

theres not 7 hours work to do that...an 1 hour to push the liners in

machine shop hourly rate must have gone up a hell of a lot in the last 4

years just phoned my fitter an turner mate to confirm its only a days work

and he reckons if your machines are already set up half a days work maby

a bit more but certainly not more than 8 to complete job ....

I used to use Kev at KC Machining at Castle Hill years ago for my race engines (which were all sleeved in admittedly iron blocks).

Brilliant machinist, but he was getting on a bit then, and that was over ten years ago.
