At home, with Optus cable broadband, it's not much faster.
One problem that has been apparent recently at home and at work is that after submitting a page, it often sits there working away for up to 10 minutes or more - in fact, I usually end up giving up waiting for it and closing the page. Opening up another window shows the page actually has been saved. This happens with both IE6 and Google Chrome - this only happens on AULRO (Dunno about with FF2 or FF3 as I've deleted both as they crashed the computer far too often).
I have the same problem - with both Firefox and Konqueror, so I doubt it is browser dependent. I have been blaming it on the fact that I have a satellite connection, although it does not happen with all web pages; AULRO is not the only one, but it is the one that I use most often that has this problem. For comparison, the Bureau of Meteorology, with quite graphic intensive pages, will usually load four pages of radar or satellite images in less time than it takes AULRO to supply one page of text.
