    My Sat phone provider (Iridium) sent me some info about the new phone. It is slightly smaller than the one it replaces and has in built data capability as standard.

    As I mentioned above - it is $3000.00.

    Resurrecting this thread.

    The time has come to get a replacement SatPhone for my old Motorola brick (first Iridium, not the 9500).

    So has anyone got more information on the Thuraya through Optus? Do they do a car kit for it?

    At this stage I'm going to talk to Telstra Country Wide about the latest Iridium offering. I think this is still the 9505A model as I can't find any mention of the 9555.
