wranglers anyone else had this problem

Got a call yesterday from the swmbo.."sweety the tires are about to come off the truck"...."THERE ALL LOOSE"
don't move i says came home and the rear rims are floating on the studs

had it into B repairs the other day.... rotation and balance tightened them up and rang them direct wtf is going on with the rims wombats (not my exact words) bloody hell he says can you bring it down ??..."well now there done up l can"...

take it down this morn they do a full re balance and alignment free of charge...(so they should !!!)

but after some investigation they find that one of the tyers has a bulge in the side wall and another has what he calls a inward bulge had look and it seems the tread sinks in to wards the inner rim!!!!! wtf!!!

Ive been suspect on these tyers since i got the truck (the tyers on the truck were brand spankers wragler at/r's 23575/R16 and Ive only done 33000 since ive had the truck..the fella at B repairs seems to think that thats not really cosha as there about 2mm of the little tread depth block ?????

anyway got a few quotes on

    http://www.maxxis.com/AutomobileLigh...2-Bighorn.aspx 245/75r16...$250each

    bf mt's..245/75r16.....$285each

    coopers st....245/75r16.$313each

lm liking the maxxis mt-762 Bighorn...@ 245/75R16 does anyone have these ??

    any thoughts.....

    cheers

I've had the same problem with a store not doing the nuts up correctly, fronts were finger tight.

Sounds like they might be a little far gone - I'd be getting the BF muds, only because they aren't too much dearer than the Bighorns. If they were say $325, I'd be going for the bighorns hands down.

Just fitted 265/75/16 Maxxis Bighorns to my Disco Matt, so far they feel OK, i'm not used to big tyres, so the 265s seem a bit floaty, but i guess like anything i'll get used too them.

I'm still adjusting the pressure to get the right feel and handling, should take me about a week.

Good value for the money i reckon

I'd rather run on the rims, than run Coopers

I'm not convince on the coop's for some reason (maybe because the guy at coopers was a right prat...giving me a lecture on why i need muddies in the first place and then trying to sway me to the bloody St's )

if you dont mine me asking.... what did yours set you back ?

the maxxis are very good val @ $250ea so I'm really swaying to wards them at the mo

PS there goes my next lot of dough for "Oliva" for a while

PPS....pm me your address again mate Ive got a few glasses for your bar....

    cheers mate

I have a set of Maxxi bighorns on the disco... well only when I go out to play really( have 2 sets of rims).Had no probs but they can be a bit noisey on the shiny bitumen (make a nice wah wah wah sound). On dirt they're brilliant. I got a very specialprice from a mate but I think if you shop hard you might get very close to the $220 mark. Great value at sub $250 I reckon

Yep... I've had the same on at least three separate incidents. I'm not happy with the build quality of Wranglers. IMO they're pooo.

No prob we got ours for $239ea, we had arranged the tyres before the rise.

I found those spotties, they are a bit so so (worse than i remember) if you still want them i'll send them Monday.

I had a bad run with Coopers, (3 sets and warrenty replacement on all) tread blocks coming off, chipping very bad, not very good Ks, hence my above comment about them

I've got a set for play on a second set of rims. A mate and I bought a set each all at once (9 all up) and paid $240ea fitted and balanced to spare rims. Not the cheapest quote we got but from a good 4wd biased shop and nearby to us.

I'm not a fan of them on the road but I am just used to my small A/Ts I think.
Not as good as MT/Rs on the road but heaps cheaper.
