However I can't imagine what made the second bloke think it was a good idea to fit an old manual typewriter to the top of his.

Ok, there is something funny going on here.....

Being the Jeep train spotter as I am I will fill in some of the gaps.

The first is a ZG but the aircleaner is off an XJ.

The thing with the ZG (about a 96 model and only worth a few K over there, they pull in good nick max of about 10k over here) is that you normally wouldnt bother with the snorkle as the best thing you can do is drive it into a deep hole and fill it in.

Ive owned one and if the caryard hadnt offered $6k trade in then I was going to try to have some fun with it before taking it to a wreckers (or sims).....it only just made it to the car yard.

The second is an XJ with what looks like (and this is the funny part) a ZG airbox on the end of his...........snorkle (using the term very loosely).

XJ's have been made since the 80's and pretty much didnt change in that time a great deal so when covered in mud and cut up a bit it is difficult to say what year but I can say it is between 92 and 98 if the front panels havent been replaced at some stage,

XJ's are cheap as dirt over there as they are available in 4 and 6 cyl petrol and a horrible mitubishi based (I think) Diesel which has a habbit of cracking liners for no reason what so ever and because they are not available as a V8 they are not that popular also they are smaller inside than a D1 but are very capable.

Ive owned one of them as well and the XJ I would have again if I could afford the fuel, pretty much on par with a V8 Disco on cost to run.
