A bad round of golf is better than a good day at work anytime.
Must be shocking..we had a corporate Golf day with about 50 blokes..yeah no women..how good was that and quiet.....
Game was a two ball Ambrose.......considering I last played 8years ago at the function afterwards they had to call my name twice to tell me I had................................WON
Nice glass trophy, $50 voucher and two good bottles of red...
Real funny as so many of those corporate types play weekly.......
The secret....drink beer before you play...it relaxes you... and not give a flying **** about the game and it relaxes you further.......have a cool playing partner who has the same attitude to drink and have fun..rather then win the event.....I even "Happy gillmore'd" one drive and it went straight.....life is good

Isn't "corporate golf day" a euphemism for "all day p++s-up"?
URSUSMAJOR
We get heaps of Corporate days at work and generally your right, "Giant ****up" is generally the theme.
We have a few games with the workmates each year at different clubs and 2 ball Ambrose is my favourite as we generally pair up the worst with the best and so forth so that it is fairly evenly matched.
I normally get to play with one of the good players as Im crap at golf but then again, we mostly play a drink a hole as well so it gets pretty messy near the end and nobody cares.
The worst thing about corporate days at our course is the damage they do to the buggies, drinks cart and the course.

Nice work, beer and not caring about winning, very nice
I tried to do 'Happy Gillmore' style last time i went to the Driving range, didn't work out exactly how I planned.
Cheers!
Andy.
Golf....the game drives me crazy....or maybe its my sons
One is 23,started playing at 6,other is 21,started at 10,both have been off lower end of single figures for the last 7yrs or so.
Their grandad got them started,i suppose it kept themoff the streets.
I have never played, but done a LOT of caddying.
The youngest one actually has an invite to try to qualify for the Aussie open, plays at Brighton next Monday........
Havent got my hopes up.......you know the way it is
The older one is gonna caddy for him
Best of luck to him, as Ive seen some of them play in the qualifying rounds and a lot of them take the word open a bit to literally and it confuses me how they get their handicap down into single figure the way some of them play.
Then you get the good ones which just amaze you how they hit the ball.
Makes the game interesting.
My club has had the Vic 0pen twice and we will be helping out Spring Valley quite a bit this year with the VO.
We have tour school every year so I get to see a lot of the guys trying to qualify for their ticket.![]()
