Well the key thing is that they are rear wheel drive vs FWD of the later models.
They are N/A diesels and otherwise seem to be stock 85 Coronas.
I think one of the issues was that the boot is bigger in a rear wheel drive.

Its really extraordinary that Toyota could do it, as usually once a model is discontinued the suppliers stop making a lot of the parts.

I think they are stretched a bit, certainly had plenty of leg room, not much insulation though.............the doors clang shut:):)

Singapore taxis is such a large customer, Toyota did a run of circa 85 Coronas in about 2000-2001 specifically for the taxi fleet which is about 5000 AFAIR.
Now that is customer focus.

They are not Coronas. The badge on the back says Toyota Crown, but it is not the Crown that we had in Australia. In other countries it is called a Toyota Comfort.

They are being phased out and replaced by Hyundais, but as the site below shows, a lot of companies are still using them.
