    d2 v8 02 sensors please explain

    sensor 1 bank 1 shows 0.086v with a 25% fuel trim

    sensor 2 bank 1 shows 1.125v (and nothing else)

    sensor 1 bank 2 shows 0.087v with a 25% fuel trim

    sensor 2 bank 2 shows 1.125v (and nothing else)

    and the senso 2 values do not change when the accelorator is pressed


    does this mean the sensor 2 is rooted?

    If my reading of your post is correct both sensor 1 and 2 on bank 2 are reading 1.125 volts. If both sensors are the same its unlikely both are bad, though it could be. I thought they only went to 1 volt.
    I take you have 2 sensors per bank, 1 before and 1 after the catalyst.
    This means bank 2 is running very rich, maybe has a misfire or a drooling injector.
    Are there any other faults?

    If bank 1 is showing 25% fuel trim , my guess is that it is rich also. Maybe bank 2 is out of range so that the ECU cannot trim.
    So also look at the MAF. AFAIK, Motronic will not show MAF faults.

    the trim was -25%, does that make better sence?


    i thi nk the 2nd bank o2 sensors are just for n/america

    i also though they would only read up to 1v

    Well you know better than I do. Have a look underneath. If there are only 2 sensors then the inputs must be joined at the ECU.
    AFAIK sensors will fail at zero, as they must be working to have an output. Sounds logical anyway.
    Now I have to qualify by saying I do not know whether the sensors on a D2 are Zirconia ( which generate the output so must be working if any output)
    or Titania like 14 CUX which are fed 12 volts and have varying resistance ( so could be bad with an output).
    However most Motronic use Zirconia.
    AFAIK -25 fuel trim means the ECU is taking out 25% fuel, which agrees with the rich scanario.
    I would be suspecting the MAF.
