Well maybe not then, he had to hit it pretty hard to get it out anyway:o
The 11000kg strap seemed to have the perfect amount of strech for the job;)
8000kgs is alot though i spose.

2.5ton x 3 = 7.5ton and the reccomended is between 2 & 3 times your vehigle GMV. So even if you load you truck to the hilt and go over 3 ton, a 8000kg strap would be perfect. I would reccomend the 'Premium' (orange one) 8,800kg strap from Just Straps. Retail about $75. The regular 8,100kg strap from Just Straps is around $60. They are both good quality.
Don't forget your RATED bow shackles.
Cool thanks for the help.. Sounds like the 8 ton strap will do the job just fine.
All this discussion about the strength of straps and no discussion about what you are attaching it to?
Ensure you use rated points on both ends if you need an 11000 kg strap for a 3 tonne vehicle you may pull bits off:(
In the latest 4wd action mag i think the best 2 straps were the ARB's and the Just srtraps ones.;)
So heres what i have been wondering. If you have an 8000kg snatch strap and you want to get some shackles how do you decide what size to get? I haven't ever seen 8000kg WLL shackles for 4wds. I know WLL means the working load, but how does that compare to the breaking strength which it seem is what you need to match to the snatch strap?

3.7t bow shackle is the minimum rated shackle for pull recoveries.
