People get abit excited about having a few posts in the open areas of sheds. Most times they can be used as dividers for workshop areas and parking bays anyway. The big plus with then is that they provide support for rafters, which then can be made smaller ( and cheaper) as they don't have to span great distances.
If you are looking at building a shed, at least consider having and the placement of internal columns as it could mean a cheaper/ bigger toy room.
As a general rule, an increase in span is the most costly, then height and then length. 64 top hat battens can span about 3mt, z100 about 4.5mt, z150 about 6mts and z200 up to 9mts. Wind loadings and shed design always need to be taken into consideration but you get the idea.
