Shocker
And I wasn't even 4wding.
Doing a U-turn up in the mountains while we were out house hunting.
Snapped at the eye, snapped the shaft, and pushed the shield into the tyre.
Very slow drive home.
The eye for the lower mount is a bit thrashed.
What should I do about that?

Shocker.
Hi Simon, I solved the same problem with wear in the shock mount by cutting a disc out of 3mm steel with the correct central hole size and welding it over the out of shape bracket. It is slightly higher than the original but it seems not to have made any difference to shocker travel. I couldn't see how to cut out an appropriate sized hole in the bracket so that the new disc would fit level with the bracket.Perhaps a die grinder would do the job.Hope this helps. Cheers, 130man.
