    Take a few days break, grab some 1200, the correct paint and she'll come up perfect.

    You'll be right DB. It won't take long to sand it back and do some more coats with the correct paint. Anyway, I'm sure Ian would be happy to do all the sanding for you and he'll even get up real early to do it

    sorry for the poor quality photos light was really poor

    may not be overlly happy with the end result.....but it is better than a faded bonnet AND i'm extremely happy with my masking off

    I reckon if you get a bucket of warm soapy water, sanding block and some 1200 grit paper and give it an even rub back you will end up with a nice even color of matt black (just dont rebuff it to get the gloss back). Years ago (even some times now) they paint cars with many laers of paint with a brush and then got to work as I mentioned above until they had the desired finish and buffed it to gloss. Some of the best paint jobs seen on hotrods weredone like this.
