    Buckland Valley, Dargo High Plains.....

Well the van is packed and ready to go for a spot of water sports activities up on the Murray near Bundalong.

Just to break up the week I'm looking at a day trip down near Bright. I have seen enough of Albury, Bright, Wangaratta triangle so that cuts that area out.

Just looking at the maps, I'm thinking about Buckland Valley, Abbeyard or even down as low as Mt Blue Rag at the back of Hotham. Ron Moon's 'Bush Tracks of Victoria' has some info on the Buckland Valley but I need more from some of the locals to see if its worth it.

My route so far is get to Wang follow Reedy Creek, through Eldorado then down to the Great Alpine Rd and then take it from there.

Any tips or suggestions of interest would be great.

Should be a great week whatever we do

Depending on your experience, most tracks around the Buckland, Buffalo River Valley areas are quite easy. Most of the main tracks were upgraded a while back after the 2005-6 bushfires and there is bound to be plenty of people in the area.

Take a chain saw. Plenty of dead trees and big limbs are still coming down every day, especially so since it has been wet and windy [gale force] lately.

    Thanks guys.

I've been looking at maps and checking info out, but the Blue Rag Ranges looks great. I might leave Buckland Valley for another day and go straight to the Ranges.

    Should have views like this.......

Many thanks to the Range Rover Club for their information.

So it will be a low level test between a lifted D2 and a standard D3.

    It's going to be great

Both cars will do it easy...

Was up there a couple of years ago in a totally standard DII...

    Fantastic drive.

    Enjoy!

    And it was...

    Such a fantastic drive.

Easy, not too difficult and just enough to test out my lift kit. The car seemed to do it all fairly easily. Very dusty in sections which had the traction control ticking over but at no stage appearing to be getting stuck.

Here are the pics of the great day.
