    Aerial photos

I am looking for some aerial photos of the Australian deserts to illustrate the thread on Yorkshire Off Road Club, Land Rover and off road club. Can anyone point me in the direction of some websites where I can download them free of charge?

Yeah, yeah I know tight assed pom but with the way the UK pound is going!

    Regards

You can always screen capture an image from Google Earth or link to Google Maps.

NASA has IR LandSat images of the whole planet: https://zulu.ssc.nasa.gov/mrsid/mrsid.pl

Other than that Geoscience Australia has them for sale but that doesn't help.

    Hi,

    This link:

    MODIS Rapid Response System Subset - FAS_SEAustralia2: 2008/361 - 12/26/08

is the SE Aus subset of various types of images on a daily basis. There are other Australian subsets for other areas, and a library of image sets that go back years. (Grampians and Alpine bushfires are interesting to look at).

Use the 250m / pixel images, but not on dial up.

    cheers, DL

    Hi,
I've got a few shots of various desert scenes from around the country.
PM with your email and I'll dig them out and send you a few.
Most of them are taken from 500 to 1000 ft AGL as i've been travelling around.

    Greg
